Qualifications & Desired Experience
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated interpreting experience in educational settings
- National or state certification (such as EIPA, RID, or equivalent)
- Understanding of deaf culture and best practices in communication access
- Ability to interpret in both classroom and extracurricular activities
- Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to adapt to new environments
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Your Role Will Include
- Providing sign language interpretation 1:1 with high school student
- Facilitating clear communication between students, teachers, and peers
- Translating spoken language into sign language and vice versa in both group and one-on-one settings
- Participating in IEP meetings as needed
- Following established protocols for confidentiality and ethical standards
- Supporting an inclusive, positive learning environment
